PHILANTHROPY

Brenda has over 16 years of experience as a nonprofit fundraising professional. She has directly raised more than $40 million and has indirectly raised nearly $1 billion. Brenda has comprehensive experience in non-profit fundraising, including annual giving, direct mail and e-solicitations, volunteer-led peer-to-peer solicitations and phone-a-thons, major gifts, corporate partnerships/sponsorships, and grants. She is also well-versed in the management of events, volunteers, staff, and stewardship processes, as well as management and training responsibility for multiple databases, including Raiser's Edge, Donor Perfect, Salesforce, and Tessitura.

Her background in theater boosts her skills in presenting thoughtfully prepared and engaging fundraising concepts to all audiences. She is personable, professional, understanding, communicative, and pays careful attention to detail. Equally comfortable working alone or in collaboration, Brenda is a multi-faceted, multi-talented, well-rounded asset to any organization.

Brenda has held an active Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential since 2017 and is a current member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) the African American Development Officers (AADO) Network, and Women of Color in Fundraising and Philanthropy. She serves on the board of AFP-New York and on Annual Conference Planning Committee of AADO. She currently serves as a regional philanthropy strategist for a national education nonprofit and supports  other select clientele through her consulting firm.
